Al Unser Jr. is an American car racer nicknamed Little Al", "Al Junior" or simply "Junior". His uncle and father both won Indianapolis 500. Unser Jr. after high school, he was already in the World of Outlaws series of sprint car racing. He secured the Super Vee title in 1981 and the Can Am title in 1982. Al Unser Jr. has a tremendous record of success as a race car driver. He won the Indianapolis 500, the most famous automobile race in the world in 1992 and 1994. In 1990 and 1994, Unser finished as the Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) season points champion. He holds the record for victories in the Long Beach Grand Prix and has multiple triumphs at Vancouver, B.C., Cleveland, OH and Portland, OR. In 1994, he won eight of 16 races driving for Team Penske. His more recent IndyCar wins came at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (2000), St. Louis’ Gateway Int’l Raceway (2001) and Ft. Worth’s Texas Motor Speedway (2003)."
