A member of the U.S. World Championship Team for Espoirs in 1999, O'Bee enters the professional ranks with valuable European racing experience, having cut his teeth in the difficult Belgian amateur circuit. The Michigan native tasted victory five times in 1999, winning two stages of the Tour de Mosselle and events such as Hasselt-Spa-Hasselt and Dunkerque-Wacuhal. Racing with the U.S. team, O'Bee placed 11th in the road race at the 1998 Pan Am Games and won the pursuit at the 1997 national championships. O'Bee will work mainly as a domestique in 2000, and will see action in the U.S. in March at the Redlands and Sea Otter events, and in June, as a support rider at the U.S. Pro Championship.
