Yelberton Abraham Tittle, widely known as Y.A. Tittle, is a Pro Football Hall of Famer. He played as quarterback in the National Football League and the All America Football Conference. Y.A. played football in high school and continued onto the Louisiana State University Tigers where he was notably named MVP during the Cotton Bowl. In the NFL, Y.A. finally had success on his third team, the New York Giants, leading the team to three straight Eastern Division Titles. He set the record for NFL Single Game Passing Touchdowns by a Quarterback when he threw seven touchdowns in one game. At one point, he even held the NFL record for throwing 36 touchdowns passes. Y.A. was also noted as the first professional football player to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. As well as being credited for one of the most iconic photos in American sports history, a photograph of a bloodied, helmet-less, Y.A. in the end zone, changing the way photographers look at sports.
