Jim McMahon is a former American football player, first at Brigham Young University and later in the professional ranks with the Chicago Bears. Through his college and professional careers, McMahon earned many accolades and will always be remembered as the Punky QB known as McMahon."Former American football quarter Jim McMahon who started his football career at Brigham Young University. He was usually primarily a punter for the team during his freshman season and he didn’t get a chance to play quarterback until the 1978 season. He was named the Chevrolet Player of the Game for his victory against CSU. In 1982, he was drafted into the NFL to the Chicago Bears as the 5th overall choice. He played for them for six seasons. In 1984, he helped the Bears and Coach Mike Ditka to their first of five consecutive division titles. Then McMahon helped again to lead the Bears to a victory against the New England Patriots at the 1986 Super Bowl XX. Jim McMahon continued his football career playing with numerous teams such as, San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, and many more. He became even more popular when he joined the Green Bay Packers in 1995, but was still considered as Chicago’s favorite sports hero. "
