George Seifert is world renown for being one of the greatest NFL head coaches in all of football history. Seifert is a former NFL head coach for both the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers. Under Bill Walsh, Seifert first joined the 49er’s coaching staff as a defensive back coach, three years later operated as the team’s defensive coordinator and soon after he was elevated to head coach. In his first year as head coach for the San Francisco 49ers, Seifert managed to go undefeated. He became the first rookie head coach to win the Super Bowl since Don McCafferty coached the Baltimore Colts to victory in Super Bowl V. His coaching skills and style are unmatched, being one of only twelve NFL head coaches with more than one Super Bowl victory and is one of only seventeen men to have won five or more Super Bowl championships. The proof is in the pudding, with an NFL career win-loss record of 114-62 in the regular season and 10-5 in the post season. Seifert will be the first and so far only inductee to have the designated privilege of being honored at Levi’s Stadium. Seifert also coached at the collegiate level, leading Westminster College and Cornell University's football teams. He was also an assistant at the University of Utah (his alma mater), Stanford University, the University of Oregon and the University of Iowa.
