Richard Dent is a former American football player for the NFL who was born December 13, 1960. He attended Tennessee State University to play football for all four years and was drafted to the Chicago Bears in 1983 and made an immediate impression. He quickly blew the Bear’s expectations out of the water with his strength and agility. In his rookie year, Dent played in every single game and even started in three. Within the next year, Dent became a permanent starter for the Bears. He became an important asset to the Bear’s legendary 1980’s defense. The 1985, Dent made one of the most terrific defensive seasons in NFL history. During his time at the Bears, he was selected for the Pro Bowl four times and five times for All-Pro. After a very successful 10 season run with the Chicago Bears, Dent continued his football career with The San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts, and the Philadelphia Eagles. Dent decided to retire from the NFL in 1997.
