Michelle Kwan is one of the most well known American figure skaters. Her figure skating skills, grace, and personality have led her to become one of the all-time greats in her sport. Michelle Kwan is a five time world champion, nine time U.S. champion, as well as a two time Olympic medalist. She is the most decorated figure skater in U.S. history. Michelle won her first world title in 1996. Michelle began a streak of dominance and won world titles in 1998, 200, 2001, and 2003. Michelle also won medals at the 1998 and 2002 Olympics, but has yet to win a gold medal. After her skating career, Michelle has become an author to three books; her autobiography Michelle Kwan: Heart of a Champion, The Winning Attitude!, and My Special Moments. She has also helped establish the Chevrolet/Michelle Kwan R.E.W.A.R.D.S scholarship program, who helps reward outstanding college bound female student/athletes. Michelle has also become a national spokesperson to the Children’s Miracle Networks Champions Across America and Walt Disney Company.
