Michael Curtis Waltrip is a professional racecar driver, commentator, author, and also the co-owner of Michael Waltrip Racing. Also, Michael has been living in the shadows of well known and three-time NASCAR champion Darrell Waltrip. While he is the younger brother of a successful racecar driver, Michael Waltrip is making his own name in the racecar industry. He has won the Daytona 500 twice in 2001 and 2003. In his early racing career, he won the Goody’s Dash Series championship in 1983. He was also voted the circuit’s most popular drive in 1983 and 1984. In 1991, his career helped landed a new sponsorship with Pennzoil and won the Winston Open. In 2001, Waltrip won his first NASCAR win in the Daytona 500 and has won various other titles. Currently, Waltrip is still racing to this day and is also a broadcaster. Michael has been broadcasting for 20 years. He has been a NASCAR analyst for Fox since 2012 and has hosted the popular show Inside Winston Cup from 1996-2007. Also, Michael has written a bestseller book titled, In the Blink of an Eye, which was on The New York Times bestseller list for 11 weeks.
