Hale Irwin is an American professional golfer. Hale has won 20 PGA Tours, 45 Champion Tours and is one of the few players in golf history that have won three U.S. Open Championships. Hale is also one of few golfers that have won official tournaments on all six continents on which golf is played. Hale was introduced to golf at a young age. He won the individual NCAA Division I Championship in golf while attending the University of Colorado before becoming a professional. Hale’s victories have had him peak among the Top Five in McCormack’s World Golf Rankings, among the Top Ten on the Official World Rankings and ranked as the 19th greatest golfer of all time by Golf Digest magazine. Later, his career has developed into a golf course architect. For over 25 years, Hale Irwin helped to raise money for the St. Louis Children's Hospital, which later named a wing in his honor.
