Former NFL player Michael Irvin is considered as one of the most successful wide receivers in NFL history. Nicknamed “The Playmaker” for making big plays during some of the biggest games at the University of Miami. Irvin set many college records for career 143 receptions, 2,423 receiving yards, and 26 touchdown receptions. In 1988, Irvin was a first round pick in the NFL Draft pick to the Dallas Cowboys. He was the first Dallas Cowboy rookie receiver to start a game in 20 years, the game where he caught his first NFL touchdown. He is also known as one of “The Triplets” alongside Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith. The Triplets were a highlight of the Dallas Cowboy’s 1990’s offense that won Super Bowls XXVII, XVIII, and XXX. Irvin played for the Dallas Cowboy’s his whole football career from 1988-1999. After his football career, he became a broadcaster on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown and is currently an analyst for the NFL Network. Irvin has also began to go into an acting career. He was co-star to Adam Sandler in the 2005 re-make The Longest Yard and had made appearances on television shows Burn Notice, 4th and Long on Spike TV, and Pros vs. Joes. He was also, one the 9th season of the popular television show Dancing With the Stars.
