Michael Oher an American football player whose life story turned into a novel, and then a very successful film with actress Sandra Bullock. Michael Oher had a very rough childhood given little attention and discipline. Living with acquaintance Troy Henderson, Michael was able to attend a private catholic school, which helped give Michael the opportunity to pursue his love for football. Michael received numerous scholarship offers from football colleges in the south. Ultimately, Michael decided to go to the University of Mississippi to plat for the Ole Miss Rebels football team. During his football career at the University, he won many awards such as, 2005 First Team Freshman All-American, 2007 First Team All-American, 2008 SEC Jacobs Blocking Trophy and much more. During his professional career, Michael was drafted in the 2009 NFL Draft to the Baltimore Raves. He was the first round 23rd pick. In 2014, Michael was moved to the Tennessee Titans for a four-year contract. Author Michael Lewis wrote Michael’s story and the book soon became a movie. The movie was nominated for an Academy Award for both Best Picture and Best Actress.
