Michael Phelps is an Olympian unlike any other. He is the most decorated Olympian of all time. The American swimmer has 22 Olympic medals. He started his swimming career at the young age of seven. Three years later, Michael held the national record for that age group and was given the opportunity to train at the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. At the age of 15, Michael qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics, making him the youngest male to make the United States Swim Team in 68 years. Michael currently holds 6 different records in the sport. He holds records in the 100m & 200m butterfly and 400 m individual medley. Alongside other Olympic swimmer, Michael also holds the records in the 4x100m Freestyle relay, 4x200m Freestyle relay, and 4x100 m Medley relay. Michael also used his $1 million Speedo bonus and formed the Michael Phelps Foundation. The foundation helps grow the sport of swimming and promotes healthy living styles. The program is offered through Boys & Girls Clubs of America and teaches the importance of being active and staying healthy.
